Build/Complexion: Lean with catlike muscles and pale skin
Eye/Hair Color: Slate gray eyes and longer dark brown hair which he usually pulls back or slicks back.
Distinguishing Features:
Julian is vain, arrogant, cocky, and extremely sure of himself. It is somewhat forgivable though, because he can back most of it up. He is strong in the one power, and has had much battle experience. His insatiable appetite for books makes him well versed in a number of subjects. He tends to be a bit of a know it all, and loves correcting people. He enjoys being the best, but he enjoys it most when he is teaching others to be the best as well. He loves the look on people's faces when they are both impressed and grateful to him; it's the ultimate ego trip.
In strange company he stays true to his Cairhien nature. He is stuffy and formal and loathe to allow any real emotions to show through. He does enjoy a good joke, though with his sarcasm they can be more of barbed insults. He is a fan of the witty retort and one liners. When he is around close friends he is more relaxed, but there are few he considers to be close friends.
Julian is fastidiously clean and organized. He needs things to be "just so", and becomes increasingly disturbed the more things are out of place. It is one of the many things that give him anxiety. He is a very particular person and likes to feel in control of things at all times.
He has a lot of pride and has trouble admitting when he is wrong. He can be somewhat self-involved, selfish, and entitled. You'd think there would be a but after that, but there isn't. He can be those things...fairly often. His sense of humor, excellence at what he does, and rare talent make up for a lot. He's the kind of guy you tell people "you'll like him once you get to know him", and it's actually true. He tends to rub people the wrong way at first, but once they see he holds himself to the standard he holds everyone else, and how good he is, they are usually willing to overlook his less favorable characteristics. Plus he really can be very funny.
Julian Damodred was the second born son of Innoline Damodred. He grew up in the lap of luxury, learning the game of Houses, badly from his untalented parents. He was only a child when Tarmon Gai'don was won, but the stories captured his imagination and took root there. He wanted nothing more in life than to become one of the heroes from those tales.
His mother spoiled him, and Julian was very headstrong. He did what he wanted and rarely listened to anyone else. He wasn’t a wild child though. He was quiet and what he wanted to do more than anything was read. He read everything he could get his hands on, and thanks to his mother, that was a lot. Each book took him on an adventure, the only thing his mother discouraged him from doing. He was 18 before he could detach himself from her and set out in the world. For years, he had hoped that one day, something magical would happen and he would be the cause of it so that he could train at the Black Tower. When that did not happen, he made his way there himself to be tested. He claims he was not surprised by the results of his testing, but in truth, he was shocked and overjoyed. Not only could he learn to channel, but he would be incredibly strong in the one power once he did so.
He studied hard at the Black Tower, but had trouble submitting to authority and was raised to Dedicated in 7 years. A year later the Seanchan invaded and Julian was sent to the front lines. He learned much from the experience, but had not had his fill of adventures yet. His skills blossomed on the battlefield, and Julian was raised to Asha'man and joined the Spirit Legion. He continued in the war, until it was over, and then was stationed in the South Theater after the Seanchan were defeated.
in 31 FA Julian played a minor role in assisting the nation of Tear with their opening of the Academy of the Enduring Stone in Godan and was then assigned to teach Cairhienin Government and History in addition to his other Tower duties while there.
When Androl Genhald retired, Julian strongly supported the election of Jadin to M’Hael by the War Council, who afterwards appointed Julian to T'sorovan M'Hael, leaving the spirit legion general position open again. His nephew’s stepdaughter recently showed up at his door, big golden eyes asking for his help. Little is known about her, except that Julian has bonded her and she stays with him. It is not common knowledge that the two are related (though not by blood), and most believe them to be a couple.

in 31 FA Julian played a minor role in assisting the nation of Tear with their opening of the Academy of the Enduring Stone in Godan and was then assigned to teach Cairhienin Government and History in addition to his other Tower duties while there.
In 55 FA – The Blight was reported to reawaken in the far north where Shayol Ghul used to be. Julian left immediately to study what he could and help the borderlanders. He spent much of his time there, and very little of it back at the Tower. While in the borderlands, Julian got to know Jadin, a member of the Earth Legion, and they became friendly. Jadin seemed to genuinely like Julian, despite their somewhat different dispositions. In turn, Julian genuinely liked Jadin back. Julian appreciated how Jadin didn't need to fill every silence with mindless chatter, and recognized how seriously he took his responsibilities. The two built a mutual respect and he is one of the few Julian does consider to be a close friend.
When Rahlin attacked Tar Valon he was called back from the boarderlands, but he refused and was named a deserter, though not by all. Jadin who had been with him in the borderlands, went back and when the time came, he got word to Julian of the uprising within the Asha’man to depose Rahlin. He returned to the tower at that point and joined them. Afterwards he was promoted to captain in the spirit legion. He went back and forth between Caralain and the borderlands until 92 FA when he returned to the tower on a more permanent basis. The Spirit Legion General had recently died while experimenting with a Ter'Angreal. When he came back to help with the investigation on the matter, he disclosed to the others he could tell what the intended use had been for the Ter'Angreal, and the discovery of that talent, at that time, made a strong enough impression that he was chosen for promotion. Julian had been aware of the talent himself for quite some time, but had hidden the ability from others until then because he knew it would mean the end of his adventures. He only disclosed it at that time because he saw the opportunity for advancement.
