The Borderlands breed hard, strong warriors who often learn to stand alone against all manner of threats without wavering with blade in hand and fire in their eyes. Lyraes was raised by one such warrior, a man who found himself left with two children and he was clearly not prepared nor was he interested. Lyraes would be his heir in name and his twin sister, Leonie, would be given everything for their father believed that Lyraes had little value outside of his talent with a blade. When their father died Lyraes clung to the dreams of his childhood and abandoned his sister, something he would later come to regret deeply, becoming a wandering student of the blade. Over the many months spent on the road he has changed into a grim, hard man prone to deep thought who is beginning to rely deeply upon his bond with the wolves, pushing himself to the edge of exhaustion regularly in some misguided attempt to atone for his sins and those of his father.
Loyal, ferocious, quiet and confident Lyraes wants nothing more than to find a new purpose as a Warder with the Aes Sedai…
Friends
Lyraes has, for the most part, kept to himself while residing within the White Tower and he can often be seen wandering out of the city by night to rest beyond the bridges. He does not share his secret and brushes off questions about the piercing yellow of his eyes, viewing attachment as a blessing which he simply cannot afford to partake in. Those who do get close to him will have to be driven by duty, decency or honour (preferably all three) and understand that he will open up in his own time. Pushing Lyraes for answers will do little but annoy him until he turns his back on you…
Allies
Put simply all of the Warders and their Aes Sedai can count on Lyraes, particularly the Aes Sedai who could command him to march into the Blight alone and at the very least he would consider it before questioning it. Ultimately, he is an independent man who makes his own decisions and will not follow orders he views as unwise, stupid or needless yet should a member of the White Tower need him the Wolf brother will fight to the death for them, loyal to a fault…
Enemies
As his connection to the Wolves continues to grow as does his distaste for the Shadow, soon he will be able to sense Shadowspawn like the Wolves and even pick up the stench of corruption upon those who side with the Shadow… and he hated them before joining the pack, now he hates them with an unquenchable fervour…
Lovers
Love and romance come quickly and easily for Lyraes, for like his father’s warriors he recognises the futility of life. There is a thirst for life which permeates through every aspect of Malkieri culture which as Lyraes has matured he has begun to embrace. He has yet to form a long term romantic attachment but he knows what love feels like and to a certain extent he craves it, the comfort of it and uncertainty. It, like battle, makes him feel alive and so it would be reasonable to assume that Lyraes seeks out passionate people with a thirst for life to love, those who love art, music, philosophy and have a strong sense of duty.
