In one Age, called the Fourth Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose in the Land of the Crystal Throne. It sped across the great Aryth Ocean to the Tai’Seanchan coast. It continued over the Mountains of Mist, picking up the scent of Two Rivers fine tabac and singing along to a tune made by a Tinker’s tea kettle. It swirled around the vast prairie known as the Caralain Grass, with it’s Black Tower fortress, and the island city of Tar Valon, home of the fabled Ogier-made White Tower...The wind swept through the valleys, skimming along the lake that once was Shadar Logoth, lifting the raven in flight. It howled through the Blight past the snorts and bellows of Trollocs, carrying on it the stench of their cookpots and rot as it whipped by a Myrddraal without creating so much as a ripple in its dark cloak. If you listen closely to the wind you can hear the sound of “friends” whispering in the dark as it whistles by you. The shadows beckon you to their warm embrace; where will the wind take you? For you must know, the wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was A beginning.
Soldiers
The lowest rank; they wear no decoration on the collars of their distinctive black coats and are equivalent to a novice in the White Tower. Unlike novices, Soldiers are required to carry out all chores with the One Power. Soldiers are only allowed outside of Caralain/BT if they have been given instruction to do so by a Lieutenant or Higher and are accompanied by a full Asha’man or Higher.
Advancing to Dedicated

It's about honor. You must have strong moral character to join these ranks, because of what we deal with; we must all be of strong moral fiber.
I. As a Dedicated to the Tower, I choose to serve the Light, to safeguard lives, and maintain courageous calm in the face of danger.
II. I will keep my private life unsullied as an example to all.
III. I recognize that the sword on my collar is a symbol of my commitment to the Light and duty to the Tower. I accept it as a sacred covenant to be held so long as I am true to the ethics of the Light.
IV. I am responsible for my actions and fully dedicated to the Tower. I will trust in the leadership of the M'Haels and the War Council.

-RP as a Soldier for one month minimum
-12 posts minimum spanning over at least three threads meeting the requirements below.
Required Roleplays:
‣ A thread that displays the development of control in the One Power. This thread must include another character that can instruct them in channeling. (4 post minimum)
‣ A thread that displays the development of maturity in the character. This thread must include at least one other character. (4 post minimum)
‣ A mission outside of the Black Tower with an Asha’man, Captain, Captain-General, Baijan M'hael, Tsorovan M'hael or M’Hael (4 post minimum)

Raising Celebration
Both Towers trainees will raise on a person-to-person basis (once they have met all requirements and applied to their faction mod).
They will advance with the Rule of Thirds for OP stats appropriate to their new rank (See our Stats page for an in depth explanation).
A celebration will be held yearly on the Winter Solstice (in our world)/Feast of Lights IC to recognize all those who were raised higher that calendar year. The event will run from December 20th (beginning of the longest night of the year) through January 20th as a "one-off" post for characters.
